Septoplasty Stories

Rob's septoplasty story

Rob emailed me on April 7, 2010:

I had my septoplasty done feb. 25th, and almost 1.5 months later, things are coming along.

After the operation:

Could not breath very well, and didn't really "sleep", but was rather knocked half KO'd by the drugs; which gave me the worst nightmares.

Couple of weeks later, the nose was clogged with massive blood clots. Very big - perhaps 3 cm long. When gone, things seemed set to improve, however, the healing turbinate's clot caused a sinus infection which last another couple weeks. I hate the headaches the most. And the eye pressure. Regardless to say, I was sort of wondering if the surgery was going to be worth it.

Finally, just a few days ago, everything seems to be clearing up. A slight fading infection, but my nose is clear, and other than the general soreness in my nose from having been taken apart, everything seems great.

As a sidebar, the worst thing prior to this surgery was the month long infections, and even vertigo a few years back. Vertigo was the absolute worst condition. Felt like having drank a 40oz, for days on end. Horrible, and I just hope this operation helps avoid all of that.

Get the final word from the doctor tomorrow.
